Rescue stories capture the heart because they reveal the power of compassion and second chances. This blog is all about highlighting different rescues and the people who save dogs from neglect, danger and loneliness.
Every couple of weeks we will be showcasing different dogs from rescue in our "Rescue Spotlight". For every blog post arf & win will donate £25 to the charity that helped them.
Rescue Spotlight of the Week

Name:Petey Pug (5 years old)
Rescue: PDWRA - Pug dog welfare
Owner: Naomi @exploreypaws
Rescue Story: Petey came from a family that didn't have the time for him and his sister Pippa. We collected them from a services in Preston and it was that moment I fell in love with him... what a gorgeous handsome boy he was....We fostered for a couple of months, Petey took a while to calm, but we rehomed his sister to a lovely lady in Diggle that we still chat to and follow online. My senior pug passed away on Peteys birthday and it was at that point we were a failed foster welcoming Petey into our family for good.
Loves: He loves all things food (typical pug) and he loves adventures and long naps in the sunshine.
Dislikes: He dislikes me leaving him for work meetings and when Marnie and Luther (his fur frenchie sister and fur rotty brother) are playing tug haha!
Tips for First Time Adopters: I would say ... give it time - the dogs have to decompress and get into a routine, Petey came to me quite stressed and anxious with all the change and not understanding. But it is 100% so worth while and rewarding,I couldn't be without him - he is my soul dog and I am forever thankful I found him and I truly believe in fate.
At time of posting this blog arf & win sent £25 to PDWRA. For more information on adopting, fostering and donating please head to their website https://pugwelfare-rescue.org.uk
